So, was checking out the news, and found out about the G.W.B. Presidential Library opening... Looks pretty cool. Anyways, also saw some of 43's paintings... really interesting how the shadows are done...I especially liked the Golf Course and Sunset paintings...the houses are pretty unique as well. But, I noticed that ALL of the news articles containing these things were horribly biased. I don't like that. The news is not all comic strip and its frankly or "bluntly" disappointing to see people putting so many poorly choiced remarks about Bush. Yeah, I get it; dude's rich and people are jealous and his cabinet was not particularly as fluid as people would have wished; but, I mean people elected him as president. Its really bothersome how post-presidency, everyone is like "well, nevermind...we'll just be weird about this particular person..."
Point #2: He just had a grandchild; and, how are you media nuts going to redeem yourselves when the child goes to school or reads something like all the things written? You aren't. During the presidency, I understand how people easily unload on the President...but, c'mon... this is insane. If more people would let the government know about weird activities they notice, none of this terrorism stuff would've even happened...
Anyways, comedy stuff... Its the stoner holiday... I think they should setup a paranoia cam...The fat chick in the picture of the 4.20 celebration [which is a police code...] looks super paranoid... hilarious. I can't really understand how people who essentially smoke weed all the time need a holiday for it... If it were like a yearly ritual, then it would have a damn better chance at being "legalized," but its getting ridiculous... Not to mention all the bullshit I went through having to deal with all the clubs in my own local community... I already wrote a blog on my stance about weed...but yeah, paranoia cam would be funny...
Worked on the Phoenix painting a little more...adding a stealth bomber...got the flag 3 dimentionalized...and made the stars almost growing as to give the look of movement...flags in wind are really difficult to paint especially because the shadows aren't as visible as more opaque objects... added a fighter jet behind the drone... making the space shuttle a little different and might put in some fireworks as I've never painted fireworks... The Phoenix is looking good and the dragon is going to be cool as well...
Did a wire sculpture randomly last night.. Had this mini wire sculpture that I made years ago and recently put a broken bottle on a piece of wood and used left-over grout/tile adhesive to stabilize it... I looked at it and was going to put something inside the bottle; however, it looked like an old knight helmet so I made this scary/trippy face instead... its looking pretty neat in a artistic way...gonna call it something like dead crusader... gave it a little respirator...ill put a picture up at some point... ran out of wire...not bad for a first attempt at this kind of sculpting...
